abigslice blog butterfly napkins:
vinicode™ wine reviews We gave oursevles a challenge: to come up with an Asian inspired tablescape only using what we had or what we could find - for free. To see the finished table click here. This is the napkin fold that we chose for each setting. This would be great for a little girl's birthday party as well. Each napkin could be a different color or pattern.

tip and tricks

one

Start with a freshly pressed and starched square napkin. We were concerned at first about the fancy detail on one corner, but it turned out not to be a problem.

two

Fold the napkin in half so that the bottom edge, the one closest to you, meets the top edge. Press.

three

Now lold the two top corners in to the center of the bottom edge. Press.

four

Turn the napkin over, so that the tip of the triangle is pointing toward you. Now take each top corner and fold them down so that they meet in line with the tip. Press.

five

Turn the napkin over again this time top to bottom. Unfold to two flaps underneath. This leaves a pocket about 2/3 of the way up.

six

Fold the napkin in half so that the bottom tip meets the top tip. Then tuck the bottom tip into the pocket. Press the napkin flat.

seven

If you pinch the long side of the napkin, this forms the body of the butterfly, and will cause the bottom wings to separate.

eight

Fold the butterfly in half, making sure to keep the body pinched in place. Now carefully press to shape on both sides.

nine

The butterfly should easily hold its shape and can be placed anywhere in your tablescape.
